Demonstrating a typical application for the Pillar Lite. This fixture is ideal for posts and pillars and the resulting light pattern is particularly effective on weatherboard. 20w 24 deg lamps used.
Lighting Pacific recently worked with landscape designer Suzanne Turley and authorised installer Victor Buckle to create an innovative exterior lighting solution for a large Remuera garden.
A family wedding provided the incentive to complete the project on time, and the installation and commission was carried out with a minimum of disruption to the family.
This case study looks at how the various lighting fittings were used to maximum effect. Apart from the eave lights used in the pool house all fittings were supplied in 9mm solid copper.
The pool pavilion lit from under the soffit by the E-Lite in 316 stainless steel. 35w 38 deg lamps were used at centres of 1.5m.
Another application for the HUNZA™ Euro Single Pole Lite illuminating this statue from each side giving an even wash from front on as viewed from glass doors opening onto the patio.
The HUNZA™ Lawn Lite is installed either side of this planted urn at the front entrance to the home which takes care of the 2 main viewing angles. 20w 38deg lamps used. To the left, the higher output in ground AR 1-11, using a 100w 45deg light source, illuminates a large mature tree.
Two HUNZA™ Wall Spots mounted high and to either side of this statue draw the eye to this classic piece of art work as the evening draws in. 20w 38deg lamps used.
This image demonstrates the versatility of the Spike Spot Adjustable. Here the head of the spot has been angled at 90deg to the spike to enable a wash of light along the brick path and throwing secondary light onto the hedge opposite providing safe access to the pool area. To maximise glare control the Glare Guard is fitted. 20w 38deg lamps used.
These citrus have been lit using a reduced height version of the HUNZA™ Euro Single Pole Lite in solid copper. The fitting uses the smaller MR 11 lamp in this case 20w. The shortened pole lifts the light source clear from the surrounding Mondo. The reduced dimensions of the Euro range offers the lighting designer the ability to offer a solution when hiding the light source is paramount.
The larger plantings in the background have received the attention of the HUNZA™ Single Pole Lite. Again the pole shifts the light source away from the influence of the Hydrangeas, starting the light throw further up the tree trunk. 20w 38deg lamps used.
The HUNZA™ Euro Spike Spot is utilised either side of the entry to this fountain feature.
The fountain in the background is lit by the submersible pond light using a 50w lamp. Remember, when lighting water features from below, the light source needs to be as close to the water surface as possible to maximise the light output.
The brick columns benefit from the positioning of the Pillar light mounted a little higher than normal allowing for a wider beam spread below. Two Wall Down Lites in the middle section of the gazebo provide adequate light should an additional table setting be required. 20w 38deg lamps used. Illuminating the hedge on the far side are the HUNZA™ Lawn Lite Deck Mount (see earlier illustration). Using 20w 60deg lamps gives a greater spread of light and a more even wash along the hedge. To the left of the pool house a HUNZA™ Spike Spot Adjustable in the large planter illuminates a large palm. The E–Lite under the pool house eave completes the scene.
The primary summer entertaining area around the pool gets the full treatment from the HUNZA™ range of exterior fittings.
Another view of the planted urn taking in the garden seat positioned over a Lawn Lite highlighting the back of the seat and throwing light up the tall conifer at the rear.
The in ground fixture to the left is another AR 1-11 100w 45deg light source. This fixture is designed to illuminate larger plantings and can be mounted in hard or soft surfaces with a separate mounting canister. As with the lawn light and driveway light the lamp can be angled 20deg through 360deg rotation.
